About the hunts

General Terrain

We hunt the Powder River Basin in Northeastern Wyoming, which is unique as it's the only area of any size in the West where trophy Mule Deer and trophy Pronghorn co-mingle and are hunted in the same immediate area.  Our mule deer and antelope hunts take place on large private ranches.  The terrain encompasses rolling grassland and rough canyon areas with patches of timber.

A Typical Day

You will be up early before daylight and start your day off with a warm cooked breakfast.  We leave the ranch headquarters early and glass the hunting area from a high vantage point.  We typically hunt for deer in the early and later part of the day, while the deer are active, leaving their feeding areas to find a place to bed for the day.  The middle of the day we concentrate on glassing the hay fields for antelope.  Lunch is taken in the field normally with cold meat sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookie, and candy bar.  After shooting light, we return to the ranch headquarters for another warm cooked meal.

After Your Hunt

If you fill your tags early we will take you prairie dog hunting, coyote hunting, or sightseeing in the immediate area.  Also, in regards to meat and trophy care,  we have an excellent local taxidermist and a quality meat processor.

Where Are We

We are located approximately 20 miles North of Gillette, Wyoming.  Our clients either drive in or fly in.  We have an airline service to Gillette that goes through Denver, Colorado.  We can pick you up and drop you off at the airport.

Mule Deer Hunts

Trophy Guided Mule Deer Hunts

  • Trophy mule deer only hunts are a 4-day hunt.  We offer 1 on 1 hunts meaning 1 hunter per guide or 2 on 1 with two hunters per guide.
  • Management mule deer hunts alone are a 2-day hunt and usually a 2 on 1 hunt.  Although, we have a lot of flexibility with our management deer hunts.  They can be in conjunction with a 2 on 1 mule deer trophy hunt or coupled with an antelope hunt.  If you are interested in a management hunt we encourage you to email or give us a call.

Antelope hunts

Trophy Guided Antelope Hunts

  •  Trophy  antelope only hunts are a 2-day hunt.  We offer 1 on 1 hunts meaning 1 hunter per guide or 2 on 1 with two hunters per guide.

Additional Information

  • Combo deer and antelope hunts are by far our most popular choice.  These are a 5 day hunt.  Again they can be 1 on 1 or 2 on 1.
  • You can mix it up with one person shooting trophy deer and one management deer.
  • You can have one person shoot a deer and another shoot an antelope.

Trophy Elk Hunts

  • Elk hunts must be in conjunction with a combo mule deer and antelope hunt.  Over the past several years, elk have moved into our hunting area.  Although, we typically see elk most days the numbers are not there yet for an elk only hunt.  Both a bull or cow are legal to shoot in our area.

Management mule deer hunts

Management Mule Deer Buck Hunts

  • Management mule deer buck hunts are for those looking for a lesser priced hunt or maybe one that is new to the hunting world.  These are mature mule deer that need removed from the gene pool.  An example maybe a buck missing one tine, 2X2 or 3X3 without eye guards, or one that is going down hill with a smaller rack and short tines.  These hunts can be combined with a trophy hunt.
